Jonathan J. Barach, President and Co-Managing Partner of Vista, oversees all investment activities of the firm and is responsible for its growth. Prior to founding Vista, Jonathan was a Manager at Barclays Capital Real Estate in Los Angeles where he originated debt financing for institutional private equity funds and local operators including CMBS, mezzanine, bridge, and JV equity structures. Previously, he was an Associate at FTI Consulting in their downtown LA office, a publicly-traded turnaround, valuation, and distressed advisory firm. Jonathan is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
The principals directly oversee all investment functions, including acquisition, due diligence, financing, asset management and disposition, and commit their own capital to every deal.
Philip A. Barach, CEO and Managing Member, is the FORMER President of DoubleLine Capital LP, an LA-based money management company with over $150 billion of assets under management. Prior to founding Doubleline, Philip was a Group Managing Director at TCW Group, where he managed investment portfolios in excess of $40 billion. Previously, he served as the Principal Fixed Income Officer at CalPERS.

Sunny Chen Barach, Chief Strategy Officer of Vista, was previously an Acquisitions Associate at The Carlyle Group in their Los Angeles office. Prior to joining Carlyle, Sunny worked for BlackRock Real Estate in their Newport Beach office. Sunny has been responsible for the acquisition of more than $250 million of real estate assets.
Michael Callahan, Vice President, joined Vista in 2019; he focuses primarily on multifamily, office acquisitions, and asset management. Prior to joining Vista, Michael was the Acquisitions Manager at Columbus Pacific Properties where he was responsible for retail and student housing acquisitions. Michael began his career at Eastdil Secured in Los Angeles where he helped consummate $4.5 billion of institutional office investment sales. Michael graduated from the University of Southern California and sits on the board of Building Hope, a real estate fundraising group that supports the City of Hope Cancer Center.
Nick Clement, Director of Multifamily Investments, is in charge of managing the firm's multifamily portfolio and assists in new acquisitions. Prior to joining Vista, Nick was the Acquisitions Manager at Starpoint Properties, a real estate investment and operating company based in Los Angeles. While at Starpoint, Nick completed over $325 million in transactions.
Kimi Heath is the Controller in charge of all aspects of finance and administration including financial reporting and review, financial planning and analysis, accounting, and benefits administration. Prior to joining Vista, Kimi was an Assistant Controller at Kennedy Wilson, a publicly traded global real estate investment company. Kimi started her career as an auditor with KPMG LLP and was an Accounting Manager at Watt Companies, an LA-based real estate company. Kimi received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Southern California and is a California Certified Public Accountant.
Termeh is responsible for the daily operations of the accounting department. Termeh joined Vista Investment Group in 2020 and has 20 years of corporate and property accounting experience, previously working at Westwood Financial overseeing 25 commercial properties. She received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Tehran University.
George Knight joined Vista in 2022 and focuses primarily on acquisitions and asset management. George previously worked as an associate at Nimes Real Estate, where he was responsible for underwriting prospective multifamily and student housing investments. Prior to Nimes, George worked for Westbrook Partners as an analyst on their West Coast Residential Development team. George received a BS in 2017 from Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
Suzan joined Vista in October 2022, as the company’s Office Manager. Suzan is responsible for the everyday management of the office and assisting the Vista team with special projects, accounting, managing calendars, meetings and travel. Prior to joining Vista, Suzan worked for Denver International Airport and the City and County of Denver for over 15 years. Suzan’s experience working for the CEO of Denver International Airport and the Senior Vice President of Global Communication and Marketing is a great addition to the Vista team. Suzan holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Colorado State University.
Michael is responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities and capital partners, and is part of the asset management team responsible for both multifamily and commercial properties in Vista’s portfolio. Michael's prior acquisition and asset management experience ranges from roles with institutional investment companies such as The Carlyle Group and Broadway Partners to smaller firms such as Wilshire Capital Investments and Pepper and Flint, both of which he co-founded. Collectively, Michael has executed over $5 billion of real estate transactions.
Nati Soffer is Vice President in charge of Portfolio Management and Commercial Asset Management. Previously, Nati held an Asset Management role at CIM Group, a commercial real estate investment and operating company based in Los Angeles, where Nati oversaw the performance of the company’s diversified $16 Billion portfolio. He began his career in real estate as a Senior Analyst at Macerich, one of the nation’s largest regional mall owners.
Beth Kubasak Swett, Senior Vice President of Asset Management, joined the team in 2018. In her role, she focuses on commercial and multifamily asset management as well as large-scale construction projects. Prior to joining Vista, Beth worked for The Ratkovich Company, an LA-based real estate company, where she was responsible for the development and management of over 3 million square feet of several large, mixed-use projects in major urban markets.
